Pray for Our Priests
During August, we ask all our parishioners to pray for our priests.
Prayer for Priests
Lord Jesus, You have chosen Your priests from among us
and sent them out to proclaim Your word and to act in Your name.
For so great a gift to Your Church, we give You praise and thanksgiving.
We ask You to fill them with the fire of Your love, that their ministry may reveal
Your presence in the Church. Since they are earthen vessels,
we pray that Your power shine out through their weakness.
In their afflictions let them never be crushed; in their doubts never despair;
in temptation never be destroyed; in persecution never abandoned.
Inspire them through prayer to live each day the mystery of Your dying and rising.
In time of weakness send them Your Spirit, and help them to praise Your heavenly Father
and pray for poor sinners. By the same Holy Spirit, put Your word on their lips
and Your love in their hearts, to bring good news to the poor and healing to the brokenhearted.
And may the gift of Mary, Your mother, to the disciple whom You loved,
be Your gift to every priest. Grant that she who formed You in her human image,
may form them in Your Divine image, by the power of Your Spirit,
to the glory of God the Father. Amen.

A Prayer for Unity
O God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
our only Savior, the Prince of Peace:
Give us grace seriously to lay to heart
the great dangers we are in
by our unhappy divisions;
take away all hatred and prejudice,
and whatever else may hinder us from godly union and concord;
that, as there is but one Body and one Spirit,
one hope of our calling,
one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism,
one God and Father of us all,
so we may be all of one heart and of one soul,
united in one holy bond of truth and peace,
of faith and charity,
and may with one mind and
one mouth glorify You; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

Adoration
Every First Friday we have the opportunity to visit and spend time with Jesus fully present in the Blessed Sacrament. What is the purpose of Adoration? Well, what is the point of spending time with anyone you love?
Adoration is not mysterious or only for very holy people, it is for all of us who want to spend time with our Lord. I use the time to quiet my mind and soul, to empty myself of all the things that are in my brain that I think I am supposed to take care of and give them to God. I also thank God for all the blessings he has given me. Then, I sit and listen.
You can also pray the rosary, Divine Mercy chaplet or read scripture. What you do is not as important as going.
A little story for you in case you are wondering if you'll like going or not: A third grade class was scheduled to go to Adoration during Rel Ed. One boy didn't really want to go, telling me he had a bad day at school and was going to get in trouble too. I told him to go and tell Jesus all about it. When he came back, he was in a much better mood and he asked me if we could go to Adoration instead of class every week!
Adoration is in the Chapel after the 8:00 am Mass and continues until 7:00 pm when we have Benediction.
Jesus is waiting for you!
